In addition to working with Manchester United’s first team for five seasons, I’ve also worked privately with a number of ex-professional athletes, as well as amateur cyclists, tennis players, golfers and equestrians

  • Sports people have found  the work they’ve done with me to be instrumental in decreasing their injury statistics and improving the longevity of their careers and sporting interests. 

  • A unique hallmark of Iyengar yoga is the focus on correct body alignment, and balanced development of strength and flexibility.  Careful execution of posture work, using props to adapt to each individual’s needs and abilities, creates more resilient less injury prone muscles and joints. 

  • Through repeated careful application of specific techniques a tendency to repeated injuries is lessened and excessive wear and tear significantly reduced.

  • Iyengar yoga is unique in its range of posture work , props and techniques so that postures can be adapted and applied to bring relief and improvement to anyone of any age or level of fitness.

    Iyengar yoga puts a special focus on correct body alignment to reconnect with the body’s innate flexibility, strength and energy flow.

  • It’s important to let me know about medical conditions.

    I’m happy to speak with your health consultant so they are advised and aware of how we intend to work.

    Injuries need to be worked with carefully at the appropriate time, assessed individually and often adapted to with props and techniques to support recovery.

    Contrary to popular belief , you do not need to be flexible to benefit from yoga!

  • You can but I will not take on new students in their first trimester as this is the most likely time for miscarriages and other complications.

    Please contact me after week 14 and I would be happy to have you in a class where you will be able to participate fully with some postures adapted for you and your baby’s comfort and safety.

  • You’ll need to wear comfortable clothing in which you can move without restriction.

    It’s important that I be able to see your kneecaps and just above the knees, so please either wear shorts or stretchy clingy leggings - no baggy loose trousers please.

  • I teach anyone from the age of 14 upwards. There is no upper age limit.
